Silicon Hollar -NYT

I spent a few days between small towns in rural Appalachian Kentucky like Pikeville and Hueysville to Louisville where the software company, Interapt is headquartered. The story focused on the training and job opportunities provided by Interapt in the tech sector specifically in areas of Kentucky in major need of a post coal economic boost. I decided to use imagery evoking the stereotypes of both silicon valley and rural Appalachia in a way that challenges both and accentuates the almost jarring juxtaposition of the two worlds converging here.
